An online survey to understand how much people know about this issue and improve wildlife management strategies in Lombardy
Bears and wolves are populating the mountain areas of Lombardy again. Their presence is very important both for the environmental and the cultural aspect, but it might cause conflicts: the two species need wide spaces, while Italian protected areas’ extent is small, making coexistence inevitable between animals and human activities. This is the reason why Lombardy Region works hard to manage this phenomenon and promote a peaceful coexistence. Through the online survey it will be easier to understand how much information citizens have and, as a consequence, improve both our information and management strategies in the region.
