Water

Our most precious resource—protecting it for future generations
Water is the foundation of all life and essential to our survival. It nourishes soils, sustains ecosystems, and powers energy production. Throughout history, it has driven major migrations, sparked conflicts, and shaped both national and international treaties. Yet access to clean water remains a global challenge. Less than 1% of the planet’s water is drinkable, and nearly 800 million people still live without it.

Protecting water resources means securing food systems, ensuring global stability, and safeguarding life on Earth. Without sustainable management, the gap between growing demand and limited resources will continue to widen—deepening humanitarian crises, fuelling conflicts, and increasing inequalities.

Acting now is not just necessary—it’s urgent. The future of both people and ecosystems depends on the choices we make today.

SDG 6 “Clean Water and Sanitation”

How we protect water

We respond to this global challenge through concrete, locally driven solutions for water conservation and shared management. We promote responsible water use, focusing on low-impact, cost- effective systems. We work closely with communities to raise awareness and build knowledge around hygiene and health, helping reduce disease and improve public wellbeing.

Our approach is participatory: local communities, institutions, schools and associations all play an active role in shaping equitable access to water.
