Climate change is no longer a distant threat: its effects are already here, impacting us every day. Rising sea
levels, extreme weather, desertification, and biodiversity loss are reshaping our planet, our economies, and
our way of life. They make us more vulnerable to disease and poverty. It’s the greatest challenge humanity
faces today.
At the heart of this crisis is global warming, driven by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions, the result of how we produce and consume. Reversing this trend calls for a radical shift in our systems of production and consumption. But it also requires a cultural shift, a people-powered transformation that starts at the grassroots, with citizens, especially young people, leading the way.
Building a fair and sustainable society is the defining challenge of our time. And we can only win it by
working together.
