Conservation enterprises
To make the conservation of natural resources an activity viable and convenient from the economic point of view, particularly in the developing countries, Istituto Oikos engages local communities to manage small businesses in the environmental sector. Oikos provides technical support to local communities living inside and outside protected areas to start, manage and promote their own micro-businesses. Responsible tourism, renewable energy and traditional crafts are the main areas of intervention.
